Obituary

HALE CENTER - Graveside services for Estelle Wheeler, 87, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hale Center Cemetery with the Rev. Lanny Wheeler officiating. Burial arrangements are by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Wheeler died Wednesday in Prairie House Living Center in Plainview. She was born April 13, 1915, in Wilmouth. She moved to Hale Center in 1955 and was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. On Nov. 6, 1935, she married J.O. Wheeler in Abilene. He died March 14, 2000. Survivors include two sons, Lanny Wheeler of Gunnison, Colo., and Larry Wheeler of Lubbock; two daughters, Ann Wheeler of Plainview and Vicky McKinney of Hale Center; two brothers, Jim Ballew of Tulsa, Okla,. and Delbert Ballew of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one sister, Lillian Tekelle of Alamogordo, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A daughter, June Wheeler, is deceased. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
