Obituary

Funeral services for Vera Mosley West, 49, of Hobbs, formerly of Plainview, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in United Baptist Church in Plainview with the Rev. Joe Horn, pastor, officiating. Mrs. West died Sunday, Nov. 6. 2005, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born Aug. 22, 1956, and grew up in Plainview. She later lived in Louisiana, Corpus Christi, Arlington and Hobbs. Survivors include one son and daughter in-law, Bobby and Sadie Mosley of Hobbs; one daughter, Latonya West of Mississippi; her mother and stepfather, James and Willie Jene Cook of Plainview; four brothers, Willie and Horace Mosley of Arlington, Ernest Mosley of Kansas and Gene Cook of Plainview; and eight sisters, Jennie Carroll, Gladys Durant, Bulah Craven, Joann Alexander and Cora Beard, all of Arlington, Donna Perry of Corpus Christi, Queen Cook and Brenda Cook of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren. Her father, Murphy Mosley, is deceased. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bartley Funeral Home.
