Obituary

PLAINVIEW - Jesse M. West, 82, died Thursday, April 23, 1992.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. West, born in Winters, graduated from Danforth Pharmacy School in Fort Worth and was licensed as a pharmacist in 1929. He married Lillian Partlow in 1929 at Alva, Okla. She died in 1989. They moved to Plainview in 1938 when they established West Pharmacy. He semi-retired in 1975. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Texas Pharmaceutical Association. He was First Pharmacist of the Year in 1954 and was a member of Hale County State Bank Board of Directors. He was a member of Plainview Kiwanis Club and a past president of Knife and Fork Club. He was Man of the Year in 1975. He was a past president of Plainview Chamber of Commerce and Texas Pharmaceutical Association in 1962 and West Texas Pharmaceutical Association.

Survivors include a son, Jess Wayne West of Plainview; a sister, Norma Parton of Waco; and two grandchildren.
