Obituary

Kregg Wellman, 39, passed from this earthly life to meet with his Granddad and Granny Wellman in heaven on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock with Dr. Will Cotton, the Rev. Matt Wolfington and the Rev. Don Kinder officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Plainview Memorial Park under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. He was born July 31, 1966, to Harvey and Marlene Williams Wellman in Memphis, Texas. He graduated from Wellman High School in 1984, then earned his BSOE in business administration from Wayland Baptist University in 1999. He owned and operated Champion's Academy of Plainview for many years. It was his privilege to have coached many athletes in tumbling meets around the world. Mr. Wellman was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Plainview. Kregg is survived by his parents; Harvey and Marlene Wellman of Lubbock; a sister, Karen Wynn of Guthrie; one niece and one nephew, Callie and Colton Wynn of Guthrie; his former wife, Katy James; and children, Alyse Anthony, Ellyn Anthony and James Anthony. Many other family members and friends will miss his quick wit, sly look and contagious laugh. The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home in Lubbock.
