Obituary

Graveside services for Donell Weeks Sr., 67, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Plainview Memorial Park with the Rev. Richard Miller, pastor of Happy Union Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Weeks died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Plainview Health Care Center. He was born Oct. 1, 1939, in Paris, Texas, to George and Bernice Crook Weeks. He worked for Steve McGavock for many years and also owned a lawn service. His wife, Alfa Jo Bell Weeks, died in 1989. He was preceded in death by both parents and two sisters, May Lee Weeks and Jenny McNary. Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Sheron and Jimmie W. Collins of Plainview, and Jimmie Renee Weeks and Tina D. Weeks, both of Floydada; one son and daughter-in-law, Donell Jr. and Deena Weeks of Lubbock; two brothers, Roger Weeks of Pampa and Jim Weeks of Turkey; and two sisters, Joann Weeks of Dallas and Betty Simmons of St. Augustine.
