Obituary

Zora Webb, 103, of Plainview passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Runningwater Draw Care Center in Olton. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at First United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating, assisted by Dr. Max Browning. Family burial will be at 11:30 a.m. in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born Zora Ellen Swaim on Dec. 13, 1907, in Arlington, she was the youngest child of Frank and Eliza Henshaw Swaim, pioneer citizens of Tarrant County. She moved with her family to Olney at age 11 and attended schools there. She married W.A. "Bill" Webb on Sept. 11, 1926. They moved to Plain?view in 1947. She was a member of St. John's Methodist Church, later moving to First United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Bill Webb and his wife, Dorothy, of Arlington and Lynn Webb of Lubbock; four daughters, Peggy Rankin and her husband, Wayne, of Plainview, Glenda Bishop of Plainview, Jean Ann Cook of San Antonio and Nancy Winterburn of Plain?view; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one on-the-way; eight great-great-grandchildren and two on-the-way; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank G. and Eliza Ellen Swaim; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Webb; a son-in-law, Charles Winterburn Sr.; her former husband, W.A. "Bill" Webb; one brother; and four sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Runningwater Draw Care Center, 800 W. 13th St., Olton, TX 79064; Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Road, Suite C, Plainview, TX 79072; or a charity of your choice.
