Funeral services for Harrell Weatherred, 82, of Plain?view will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Plain?view Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Weatherred died Monday, June 14, 2010, in Plainview. He was born May 20, 1928, in Cottle County to William and Mattie Weatherred. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Dorcas Rhodes Dec. 21, 1957, in Panhandle. He was the golf coach and driver's education teacher at Plainview High School. He also was a past director of the Optimist baseball program and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul Weatherred of San Antonio and Patrick Weatherred of Mid?land; one sister, Clara Jane Sexton of Lubbock; and two grandchildren, Jordan Weatherred and Lindsey Weatherred, both of Midland. His parents; a son, Gregory Weatherred; seven brothers; and two sisters are deceased. Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church, 1001 W.
