Weaks, Lester C., Mrs. (Jessie B. Burson)

Funeral services for Jessie B. ?Miss Jessie? Weeks, 94, will be at 2 pm Thursday in Grace Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Connie Nieto, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.

Mrs. Weaks died Tuesday Jan 30. 2001, at her residence.

She was born Jessie Burson on Sept. 20, 1906, in Silverton, the daughter of the late Melissa Ann Todd and Jefferson Richmond Sanders Burson, Silverton pioneers.

She graduated from Silverton High School and received a teacher?s certificate from West Texas State College. She taught at country schools in Briscoe and Swisher counties.

She was a dietitian in Plainview Hospital and Clinic, worked in retail sales and was a medical companion 20 years, retiring in 1988.

She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.

In 1926 she was married Lester Calvin Weaks in Kress. Died in 1986.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Wanda Weaks of Plainview; and two grandsons, Micah Weaks of Dallas and Jon Weaks and his wife, Sonya, of Lake Tahoe, Nev.

Five sisters and three brothers are deceased.

The family suggests memorials at Hospice or Meals on Wheels.
