Warren, Tom

Funeral services for Tom Warren, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with David Milstead, a deacon at First Baptist Church, officiating.

Mr. Warren died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at his residence.

He was born April 7, 1923. He married Mary Nell Warren on Nov. 23, 1966. She died Aug. 10, 1994.

He attended Plainview schools and joined the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

During his military service, he received two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars, a Silver Star, three Invasion Medals and a Commendation for Valor. He was involved in the invasion of Normandy on Omaha Beach in the 16th Infantry on June 6, 1944.

He was a welder and worked for Henry Robertson and H.A. Walker. He raised and trained breed horses and was also an artist.

He was past president of the Texas Cowboy Artist Association and a member of the Texas Artist Guild.

Survivors include two sons, Alan Warren of Athens, Texas and Mitch Warren of Granbury; three granddaughters; and one great-grand-daughter.

The family will receive visitors at the Llano Estacado Museum, 1900 W. Eighth Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the Disabled Paralyzed American Veterans.
