Walton, George Edwin
Graveside services for George Walton, 87, of Lubbock, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Plainview Cemetery with the Rev. William R. Fleming officiating.
Burial arrangements are by Rix Funeral Directors of Lubbock.
Mr. Walton died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born Aug. 13, 1912, in Goldthwaite. He graduated from Lampasas High School and attended Southwestern University. He moved to Lubbock in 1932.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of St. John?s Methodist Church and the Men?s Sunday School Class.
He married Dorothy Rushing on March 28, 1937.
Survivors include his wife; a niece, Lynn Witcher of Austin; and a nephew, William H. Walton of Palm Springs, Calif.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
