Waller, Leroy

Funeral services for Leroy Waller, 71, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ with Mike Prather, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Waller died at 7:26 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 1998, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo.

He was born June 19, 1926, in Darwin, Okla,. where he grew up and attended schools. He served with the military during World War II and was discharged on Oct. 29, 1945. He moved to Plainview in 1948 and worked for Fred Garrison Oil Co., Browning Seed, Co-op Compress, Coke Co., Wallers Texaco and Wallers Gulf. He retired in February of 1998. He was a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ. On Nov. 3, 1945, he married Ara Boykin in Antlers, Okla.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Delores Mitchell of Plainview; Patricia Hacker of Benton, La.; one brother, Orville Waller of Farris, Okla.; two sisters, Sylvia Daffern of Olton and Rebecca Fowler of Ceres, Calif;. five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
