Walker, Thomas Herbert, Mrs. (Celia May Wicker)
Funeral services for Celia May Walker, 86, will be at 2p.m. today in the First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr.
Travis Hart, pastor, officiating, assisted by Jerry Bevil of Plainview.
Burial will be in Plainview cemetery by Wood Dunning Funeral Home.
Mrs. Walker died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6 2001, in I.H.S. of Plainview.
Born Aug. 31, 1913, in Floyd County, she grew up in Lockney High School in 1930.
She married Herbert Walker on April, 2, 1936, in Plainview. He died Sept. 5, 1984.
From 1936 until 1938, the Walkers farmed in the Cotton Center area. They moved to Halfway community in 1938 and farmed until her husband retired in 1965. Then they moved to Plainview.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainview and former member of First Baptist Church of Halfway.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James Lewis and Joyce Walker of Kress, Garland T. ?Buddy? and Ruth Walker of Oklahoma City, Okla., and David and Jo Carol Walker of Plainview; one sister, Llyn Dillion of Liberal, Kan.; three sisters-in-las, Joy Wicker of Plainview, Essie Wicker of Seminole and Verley Gebe Wicker of Las Vegas, Nev; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A granddaughter, Janna Walker, is deceased.
The family suggests memorials to ether the Janna Walker Memorial Scholarship Fund at Tarleton State University in Stephenville or to VistaCare Family Hospice of Plainview.
