Graveside services for Perry Walker, 57, of Plainview were at 10 a.m. today, June 8, 2011, in Plainview Memorial Park with Wayne Horton officiating. Memorial services were at 11 a.m. at Garland St. Church of Christ. Services were under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Walker died Monday, June 6, 2011, in Plainview. He was born Aug. 10, 1953, in Plainview, Texas, to Preston and Marie Walker. He lived in Plainview all of his life. He received his bachelor's degree in business from Wayland Baptist University in 1976. He was a past youth director and song leader at Broadway Church of Christ in Lubbock, Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock and Garland St. Church of Christ in Plainview where he was a member. He was a member of Leadership Plainview and was a lifelong farmer. Survivors include his mother, Marie Walker of Plainview; one brother, Richard Walker and his wife, Kathern, of Wimberley, Texas; one sister, Barbara Huffhines and her husband, Eddie, of Hale Center; four nieces, Heather Gruhlkey of Kress, Heidi Ingley of Tomball, Holly Hingst of St. Francis, Kan., and Whitley Walker of Lubbock; three nephews, Jerrod Walker of Denver, Colo., Rhett Walker of Dallas and Landon Walker of Tulia; two great nieces, Maggie Hingst of St. Francis, Kan., and Laney Gruhlkey of Kress; and four great-nephews, Brennan and Austin Gruhlkey of Kress and Jaeger and Tucker Ingler of Tomball.
