Obituary
Funeral services for Imogene Irene Walker, 78, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Horace Abbott, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in a Plainview Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Walker died at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, in Prairie House Living Center. She was born Feb. 25, 1926, in Fairview. She attended school in Vigo Park/Fairview and graduated from Plainview High School. After her marriage she moved to Kansas and returned to Plainview several years later. Mrs. Walker helped start the PTA at College Hill Elementary. She was active in Band Boosters and Choir Boosters for several years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Senior Citizens, Reapers Bible Study, Bridge Club and Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren at all of their sporting events. She married Homer A. Walker on Jan. 24, 1944, in Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Michele Devin of Lubbock; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Frank and Nancy Walker of Plainview; four brothers and sisters-in-law, W.F. "Bill" and Sue Langston of Plainview, Charles Troy and Ann Langston of Tulia, Robert Otto and Jerry Bob Langston of Plainview and Donald Ray and Dee Langston of Granbury; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gertrude and Les Trotter of Plainview and Dorothy and Glen Richardson of Plainview; six grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer and Adam Wright, Bryan Walker, Tiffany and Andrew Walling, Crystal Devin, James Devin and Tara Devin; three great-grandchildren, Conner Wright, Brennen Wright and Stephanie Wright. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by one daughter, Delta Walker Smith, and two grandchildren, Stephanie D'Lyn Smith and John Walker Devin. Pallbearers will be Bryan Walker, James Devin, Adam Wright, Andrew Walling, Roland Flowers and Doug Flowers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 201 W. Fourth Street. Memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital or Grace United Methodist Church.
