Obituary

Funeral services for Brian Walker, 48, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Walker died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born May 14, 1956, in Plainview. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1974 and received a degree in agriculture education from Texas Tech in 1979. He farmed most of his life and recently went to work for Karr Services in Plainview. He loved to fly and golf and watch his daughter play basketball. On Nov. 29, 1980, he married Theresa Cowart in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; a son, Landon Walker of Plainview; a daughter, Whitley Walker of Plainview; two brothers, Richard Walker of Conroe and Perry Walker of Plainview; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Eddie Huffhines of Hale Center; his mother, Marie Walker of Plainview; his mother-in-law, Juana Cowart of Plainview; two nephews, Jerod Walker of Dallas and Rhett Walker of Lubbock; three nieces, Heidi Inglet of Houston, Heather Gruhlkey of Kress and Holly Hingst of Plainview. His father, Preston Walker, died Oct. 12, 1993. The family will receive friends from 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.
