Obituary

Gary G. Waldie, 72, of Plainview passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Parkview Baptist Church with Steve Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Waldie was born on May 4, 1938 in Ralls, Texas to Ella Juanita Howard and Samuel Houston Waldie. Gary served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1956 to 1962. He married Janette Potter on September 26, 1958, in Lubbock. They have lived in Plainview since 1964. Mr. Waldie owned and operated West Texas Pump Service in Plainview. He is survived by his wife, Jan Waldie of Plainview; one daughter, Kim Swan and husband Jim of Plainview; one son, Mark Waldie of Salt Lake City, Utah; one grandson, Montana Swan of Plainview and one granddaughter, Hope Swan of Plainview.
