Wade, Cobert G., Mrs. (Jewell Margaret (Judy))

Funeral services for Jewell Margaret ?Judy? Wade, 101, of Lubbock, former Plainview resident, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Bill Aylesworth, lay minister from Clovis, N.M., officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wade died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at her residence in Lubbock.

She was born June 27, 1901, in Chilton. She graduated from high school in Russell, Okla., and moved to Fort Worth in 1917. She attended Draughon?s Business College and in 1925 moved to Plainview and worked for Southwestern Public Service for 22 years.

After her retirement, she moved to Lubbock and rejoined SPS working another 18 years before retiring again in 1966.

She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Lubbock for 50 years and a member of the Business and Professional Women?s Club in Plainview.

On Sept. 14, 1945, she married Cobert Wade in Lubbock. He died March 2, 1976.

Survivors include three nieces, Lois Cantrell of San Antonio, Margaret church of Boerne, and Wanda Walker of Albuquerque, N.M,; and several cousins.

A sister, Clara Taylor, is deceased.
