Obituary

Funeral services for Billy "Brute" Wade, 63, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Lawrence Walker officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Wade died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Jan. 23, 1945, in Scurry to J.T. and Trudie Mae Wade. He lived in Plainview for many years before moving to Lubbock. He graduated from Booker T. Washington School in 1963 and was a member of Church of God in Christ. Survivors include four sons and one daughter-in-law, Allen and Lakeva Newsome of Palestine, Dwan Newsome of Beaumont and Billy Wade Jr. and Jarvis Wade, both of Memphis; two daughters, Carla Caruthers of Plainview and Regina Lewis of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Allen Jordon of Plainview; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, James Wade and Jerry and Annette Wade, all of Plainview, and Ernest and Beverly Wade of Fort Worth; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
