Obituary

Sonia Villarreal, 17, of Plainview passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., today, Dec. 23, 2010, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Sonia was born Sept. 15, 1993, in Hale Center to Casimiro and Raquel Gonzalez Villarreal. She attended school in Plainview and was a junior at Plainview High School. Sonia loved athletics; she played softball and was on the powerlifting team at Plainview High. Sonia was a member of the Powerhouse of the Plains Marching Band. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she was an altar server and communion minister for many years. Sonia was a happy girl who always had a smile on her face. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Sonia is survived by her parents, Casimiro and Raquel Villarreal of Plainview; her brother, Casimiro Villarreal III and his wife, Elizabeth, of Plainview; her sisters, Diana Flores and her husband Tony, Laura Villarreal, and Sandra Torres and her husband Oscar, all of Plainview; her nieces, Breanna Perry, Leila Flores, Natalie Perry and Alexa Torres; and her nephews, Casimiro Villarreal IV and Zachary Perry.
