Rev. Pedro A. Villarreal
Funeral services for the Rev. Pedro A. Villarreal, 61, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Primera Iglesia Bautista with the Rev. Glen Godsey, associate director of the Caprock-Plains Baptist Area, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
A devotional service will be hel at 6 p.m. today in Lemons Memorial Chapel.
Rev. Villarreal died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, in Covenant Hospital.
He was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Odom.
On Sept. 9, 1963, he married Teresa Cueva in Plainview.
He pastored Iglesia Bautista Del Carpentero in Hale Center as well as Date Street Hispanic Mission, which later became Iglesia Bautista Date Street in Plainview, and Primera Iglesia Bautista in Lockney.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Minerva V. Gibbs of Post and Paula Ann Villarreal of Plainview; five sons, Larry, Pedro III, Alfred and Francisco Villarreal, all of Plainview and Andrew Villarreal of Lubbock; his mother Modesta Aguilar; two sisters, Arsenia Lopez of Lubbock and Beatrice Thomaside of Plainview; and 15 grandchildren.
While pastoring in Hale Center, he considered Maria Elena Ybarra and her daughters Iris and Jessica and Luis and Norma Andrade and Louisito and Patti as his family.
Two brothers, Domingo A. Villarreal Sr., and Lucio A. Villarreal, are deceased.
