Obituary

Antonio G. Velasquez Jr., 60, of Plainview passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, in Kornerstone Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Velasquez was born Aug. 6, 1947, in Laredo, Texas, to Antonio Sr. and Paula Velasquez. He graduated from Laredo High School and Laredo Junior College. Mr. Velasquez served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1968-70. He moved to Plainview in 1976. He was a member of the D.A.V. He is survived by one daughter, Anisa Velasquez of Amarillo; two sons, Antonio Velasquez III of Plainview and Alberto A. Velasquez of Dumas; three sisters, Anita Trevino of Zapata, Victoria Gonzalez of Winters and Janie Velasquez of Winters; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Velasquez Jr. and Paula Garcia Velasquez; one brother, Pablo Velasquez; and a brother-in-law, Pablo Trevino.
