Vaughn, Harold William

Hale Center ? Funeral services for Harold William Vaughn, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Meacham, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

Mr. Vaughn died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, in Covenant Hospital Plainview.

He was born July 28, 1913, in Tyler. He grew up in Hale Center and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1939. He retired from the Air Force in 1949 and worked for the U.S. Post Office in Plainview for nine years and retired from the post office in Boulder, Colo.

He lived in San Antonio before returning to Hale Center in 1995.

He was a member of First Baptist Church.

On March 11, 1995, he married Cora Lee Churchwell Jacobs in Hale Center.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Harold Dean Vaughn of Moral Bay, Calif.; a sister, Geniva Georgeson of Tyler; and three granddaughters.

He first wife, Elaine Cooper Vaughn, and a daughter, Pamela Acker, are deceased.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
