Dorothy Doss Tyler, 89, of Plainview, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, in Plainview. Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Plainview Memorial Park with Brother Joe P. Weldon officiating. Services are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Tyler was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Fort Worth, Texas, to J.O. Doss and Eula Foster Doss. She married Cleave Tyler on Oct. 12, 1940, in Chillicothe, Texas. She was a housewife and also worked at S&H Stamp Store and at Furr's Supermarket. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleave Tyler; a son, Dale Tyler; a grandson, Danny Tyler; a son-in-law, Jerry Smythe; her parents; two brothers; and one sister. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Smythe of Plainview; one son, Rick Tyler and wife, Diane, of Wetumpka, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
