Obituary

Funeral services for Johnny Turner, 83, were at 2 p.m. today in Bartley Memorial Chapel with the Prophetess Gloria Turner and the Rev. Bennie Myers Turner of AMP Center/PWFG officiating. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Turner died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, at his residence under hospice care. He was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Elkhart to Roger and Gertrude Turner. He worked in agriculture most of his life. Survivors include five sons, Roger Lee Turner, Joe Arther Turner, Delbert Turner, Allen Turner and Darin Turner, all of Plainview; four daughters, Era Jean Turner and Martha Jane Turner, both of Plainview, and Carolyn White and Nina Jo Green, both of Arlington; two brothers, Arizona Joe Turner of Dallas and Albert Pete Turner of Palestine; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. His wife, Emma Lee Turner; one brother, El Washington; one son, Johnny Lee Turner; one daughter, Billie Roy Turner; and a grandson, Roger Turner Jr., are deceased.
