Obituary

BOVINA - Montie Velma Turner, 100, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, in Friona.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery in Plainview with the Rev. Quita Jones of Hart and Larry Mitchell of Bovina officiating. Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.

Mrs. Turner was born Feb. 15, 1905, in Altus, Okla., to Isaac and Mary Jane Mollie Brewer Dial. She married George Turner on Dec. 24, 1926, in Childress. He died July 27, 1986. She moved to Bovina in 1955 from Lockney. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Bovina where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the WMU.

She was also preceded in death by a son, George Dial Turner on Feb. 9, 1953; and a great-granddaughter, Kelli Glenn Mitchell on May 12, 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Arlene McCallum of Bovina; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church in Bovina.
