Abernathy ? Funeral services for Calvin Tucker, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Campbell officiating.
Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home.
Mr. Tucker died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at his residence.
He was born May 28, 1924, in Lakeview. He graduated from Spade High School in 1941. He entered the U.S. Army Air Force in 1943 and served with the 8th Air Force in England during World War II. He also served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired from military service at Travis Air Force Base in California in 1963.
He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, Enlisted and Retired Association and Abernathy American Legion Post 500.
He moved from California to Fort Worth in 1963 and to Abernathy in 1968.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge #1162 in Fort Worth, the Abernathy Lions Club, Abernathy Lions Buc, Abernathy Senior Citizens and Abernathy First United Methodist Church.
On Dec. 11, 1951, he married Mable Claire ?Polly? Waddell in Carson City, Nev. She died in November 1992.
Survivors include a brother, Thomas E. ?Ray? Tucker of Sun City, Calif.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock, 1102 Slide Road, Suite 3, Lubbock, TX 79416, or to a favorite charity.
