Obituary

John Perry Truett, 69, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, July 5, 2010, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at College Heights Baptist Church with Ewell Dean Truett and Don Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, July 6, 2010, at Lemons Funeral Home. John was born Aug. 22, 1940, in Toleto, Wash., to John and Rebecca Julia Truett. He graduated from Lockney High School in 1958 and joined the Army, serving until 1961. He later married Dianna Lee Barron on Nov. 17, 1972, in Lubbock and then attended Wayland Baptist University, graduating in 1977. He loved to fish and cook and was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dianna Lee Truett of Plainview; two sons, Lee Truett and wife Dana of Plainview and Glenn Truett and wife Kendra of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Paul Truett and Payge Truett, both of Plainview.
