Brooke, Billie, Mrs. (Zekie Collen Fleming Tow)

Memorial services for Colleen Tow Brooke will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at the FBC of Littlefield with her pastor, Rev. Joe Stewart, Officiating assisted by Rev. Lester Griffin, Mrs. Brooke's son-in-law. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery. She eased into God's presence Tuesday, March 20, 2007.

Colleen was born on July 10, 1923 to T.A. and Bettie Fleming in the community of Cousins near Plainview. The family moved to the County Line community in about 1930, and she graduated from Abernathy High School. Colleen and Maurice Tow were married Nov. 3, 1942 in Abernathy where they made their home until moving to Littlefield in 1968. Maurice preceded her in death in 1984. She is also predeceased by a son, Malcolm Tow, and a sister Delwin Middleton.

Colleen is survived by her husband of 17 years, Billie Brooke of Littlefield; a daughter, Betty Griffin and husband Les of Crosbyton; grandchildren Gavin Tow of Olathe, Kansas, Emily and husband Wally Davis of Shallowater, Nathan and wife Valerie Griffin of Pflugerville, and a step-grandson, Kip Schwoyer of Gilmer; great-grandchildren John Ryan, Brittany and Tiffany Davis of Shallowater. She is also survived by one beloved sister, Darrille Pettit of Abernathy.

Colleen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Littlefield where she taught a children?s SS class for many years. She was a dedicated wife and mother and spent her life and energy nurturing her family and unselfishly caring for the needs of others. Her smile and sense of humor will be cherished by those who knew her.
