Obituary

Funeral service for Catarina Torres, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Life Church with the Rev. Steve Martinez , pastor, and Pedro Urrutia officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Torres died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born April 30, 1923, in Rosebud to Jose Arredondo and Florencea Falcundo Arredondo. She was a member of Templo Betania. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Victoria Torres and Ruben and Janie Torres, all of Plainview; three daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Librado Samarripa Jr. and Jeannie and Lawrence Zambrano, of Plainview, and Ruth Ann and Louis Cortez of New Auburn, Minn.; four brothers, Milton Arredondo, Pete Arredondo and Henry Arredondo, of Plainview, and Joe Arredondo of Wolfforth; a sister, Paula Mojica; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Marcelina Bela and Lupe Lara, are deceased. Pallbearers will be Ruben Torres Jr., Michael Torres, Librado Samarripa III, James Samarripa, Joe Lewis Cortez and Aaron Ramirez.
