Funeral services for Bartie Era Tooley, 105, longtime Plainview resident, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Tooley died at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, in South Barry County Hospital in Cassville, Mo. She was born July 15, 1896, in Jacksboro. She was a school teacher and taught in Hale and Floyd counties as well as Swisher County. After retirement, she was a substitute teacher in the Plainview schools. She also taught for one year in Bogata, Colombia. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1947, taught Sunday school for 17 years and was active in the Woman?s Missionary Union for 30 years. She moved to Eagle Rock, Mo., in 1997. On April 25, 1915, she married Edwin Henry Tooley. He died March 30, 1973. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Uarda Hill of Sherman, Edwina Martin of Eagle Rock, and Anita and Ken Baldwin of Santa Fe, N.M.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Wendell Tooley of Plainview. A grandson, Dan H. Hill, died in 1990. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lemons Funeral Home.
