Obituary

Tijerina Otilia (Amador) Tijerina, 83, of Plainview, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Celebration of Life services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Plainview with the Rev. Raymond Gonzales officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Monday from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Otilia was born April 20, 1931, in Beeville, Texas, to Valent?n and Lina (Salazar) Amador. She married Jos? Tijerina on March 27, 1945, and together they raised a family of 14 children. She had a passion for sewing and she loved to cook and take care of her family. Otilia was a member of Iglesia Nueva Visi?n fellowship in Plainview. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jose M. Tijerina Sr. in April 2014; one son, Andrew Tijerina; one brother Santos Amador; three sisters, Juana Chapa, Antonia and Anita Amador; and three granddaughters, Geneva, Joann and Bella. Survivors include seven sons, Joe Tijerina Jr. of Austin, Jesse Tijerina of Kress, John Tijerina of Edmondson, Mario Tijerina of Houston, David Tijerina of Plainview, Diego Tijerina of North Dakota and Rudy Tijerina of Houston; six daughters, Maria Guadalupe Burnam, Juanita Chapa, both of Lubbock, Oralia Rodriguez of Arkansas, Andrea Brise?o of Dallas, Lorraine Martinez of Austin, and Peggy Diaz of Plainview; two brothers, Pedro Amador and Valent?n Amador Jr. both of Beeville; one sister, Ursula Guajardo of Beeville. She was also blessed with 40 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
