Obituary

Jose "Joe" Tijerina, 89, of Plainview passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at Trinity Fellowship Church with Mario Tijerina officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Tijerina was born on March 5, 1925, in Beeville, Texas. He married Otilia Amador on March 27, 1935, in Beeville, Texas. He was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Tijerina. Mr. Tijerina is survived by seven sons: Joe Tijerina, Jesse Tijerina, John Tijerina, Mario Tijerina, David Tijerina, Diego Tijerina and Raul Tijerina; six daughters: Maria Burnham, Janie Chapa, Andrea Briseno, Oralia Rodriguez, Lorraine Martinez and Peggy Diaz; numerous grandchildren, grea- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
