Obituary

Services for Audrey Alyne Thurman, 78, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Garland Street Church of Christ with Russell Harris, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Thurman died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at her residence. She was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Quanah. She moved to Brownfield at a young age and graduated from Brownfield High School. She married William Everett Thurman Sr. on Sept. 2, 1945, in Brownfield. He died Jan. 17, 2006. She moved to a farm northwest of Plainview in 1952 then moved to Plainview in 1960. She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ and was active until her health failed. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Dave Rhoads of St. Louis, Mo., Janet and Roy Shrode of Midland and Nancy Quinn of Odessa; two brothers and a sister-in-law, S.A. Hodges Jr. and wife Francis of Tulia and Jack Hodges of Kingsland; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
