Obituary

Memorial services for W.E. "Bill" Thurman Jr., 50, of Kress, will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with Russell Harris, minister of Garland Street Church of Christ, officiating. Cremains will be buried on the family farm. Mr. Thurman died at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at his home on the farm. He was born April 16, 1955, in Plainview. He graduated from Plainview High School and attended Abilene Christian University. He farmed all of his life. He was a member of the Edmonson Co-op. Survivors include three daughters, Kara Thurman and Lauren Thurman, both of Odessa, and Jennifer Hendricks of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his mother, Alyne Thurman of Plainview; three sisters, Linda Rhodes of St. Louis, Mo., Janet Shrode of Midland and Nancy Quinn of Odessa; and one grandchild
