Thurman, Gary L., Mrs. (Deby Steindel)
Deby Thurman, 55, of Plainview passed away on Monday, Sept. 28, 2015. A time of Remembrance will be held from 2:30-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, in the Texas Room located inside Happy State Bank. All who knew Deby are invited to participate. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Deby was born on Jan. 28, 1960, in Trenton, New Jersey, to David Anthony Steindel Sr. and Carol Lynn Steindel. She grew up in New Jersey before moving to Texas with her family. She graduated from Sharyland High School in Mission, Texas. She worked as a bank teller/supervisor for several banks including Wells Fargo and the last being Happy State Bank in Plainview. She married Gary L. Thurman on April 19, 1997, in Plainview. Gary preceded her in death on July 26, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her mother, Carole Newton of Plainview; one brother, David Anthony Steindel Jr. of San Antonio; and a nephew, Alexander David Steindel of San Antonio.
