Thurman, Donnie Wayne

Graveside services for Donnie Wayne Thurman,63, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Mary Lou Dillon, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.

Burial will be by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mr. Thurman died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, in Care Inn of Plainview.

He was born Aug. 5, 1940 in Petersburg, attended Plainview High School and served in the U.S. Navy, returning to Plainview after he was discharged. He worked for Excel beefpackers for many years and retired in 1995 because of disability.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna Gayle Thurman of Amarillo; a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Lucretia Thurman of Lubbock; a sister, Ruby Cannon of Plainview, and three grandchildren.

Two sons are deceased.

The family suggests memorials to Vistacare Hospice of Plainview or First Christian Church.
