Thorpe, Clarence, Mrs. (Lottie Beatrice Stoddard)

PETERSBURG ? Funeral services for Lottie Beatrice Thorpe, 100, of Lubbock, were at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Wilson, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Petersburg Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Mrs. Thorpe died at 8:07 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

She was born Feb. 28, 1900, in St. Louis, Mo. She attended schools in Texas and Oklahoma and moved to Petersburg in 1908. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Petersburg and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

On Nov. 16, 1919, she married Clarence Thorpe in Petersburg. He died March 23, 1984.

Survivors include a grandson, Jearl Thorpe of Lubbock; three granddaughters, Jann Rowell of Houston, Gwyn Heflin of San Angelo and Kim Newman of Brady; and four great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Wayne Thorpe and Stanley Thorpe, are deceased.

The family suggests memorials to Petersburg Cemetery or First United Methodist Church.
