Thompson, Fred

Olton-- Memorials service for Fred Thompson, 84, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Plainview with the Rev. Bruce Green, pastor, officiating.

Arrangements are by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home.

Mr. Thompson died at 3:15 a.m. today, Feb. 6, 2004, in Runningwater Draw Care Center.

He was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Abernathy. He served with the Army Air Corps and moved to Olton in 1955 from Oakland, Calif.

He owned Thompson Chevrolet Dealership for several years.

He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Olton Lions Club and the National Society of Civil Engineers.

On Aug. 14, 1945, he married LaVerna Mayrand Ballard in Bend, Ore.

Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Linda Thompson of Olton; one daughter, Pat Doedeker of Plainview; two brothers, Pete Thompson of Abernathy and L. O'Brien Thompson of Amarillo; two grandchildren and spouses, Kryl and Heather Boedeker of Abernathy and Chris and Shannon Outen of Arlington; and one great-granddaughter, Erin Outen of Arlington.

The family suggests memorials to Runningwater Draw Care Center, Box 409, Olton, TX 79064.
