Thomas, Warren Grant

LUBBOCK-Funeral services for Warren Grant Thomas, 71, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Church of Christ with Dale Mannon officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview by Sanders Funeral Home.

Mr. Thomas died Monday, April 9, 2001, at his residence.

He was born July 8, 1929, in Hale Center. He graduated from Abernethy High School and was a farmer and rancher from the late 1940?s until his retirement in the early 1990?s. He served on the board of directors of Hale County Wheat Growers and was a member of Greenlawn Church of Christ. He moved to Lubbock in 1996.

On Feb. 6, 1950, he married Marinell King in Hale Center. She died July 2, 1977.

Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Dan Thomas of Lubbock, Dwight and Lynette Thomas of Hale Center, Kevin and Susie Thomas of Lubbock and Kelly and Kim Thomas of West Monroe, La.; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Tom Long of Hearne; a sister, Hazel Nelson of Dimmitt; a brother, Clifton Thomas of Kress; and 11 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matt Thomas, Jason Thomas, Drew Thomas, Blaze Thomas, Adam Long and David Long.

The family suggests memorials to the Children?s Home of Lubbock, Box 2824, Lubbock, TX 79408.
