HALE CENTER ? Graveside services for former Hale Center resident Dan Warren Thomas, 50, of Lubbock, will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Hale Center Cemetery with Matt Swanson, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mr. Thomas died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born on July 11, 1951, in Hale Center to Warren Grant Thomas and Marinell King Thomas. He graduated from Hale Center High School in 1969 and Abilene Christian University in 1973. He moved to Lubbock from Hale Center and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include three brothers, Dwight Thomas and his wife Lynette of Hale Center, Kelly Thomas and his wife Kim of West Monroe, La., and Kevin Thomas and his wife Susie of Lubbock; one sister, Carolyn Long and her husband Tom of Gause; 13 nieces and nephews, Leah Thomas, Matt Thomas, Kyla Thomas, Jason Thomas, Brandi Thomas, Brooke Thomas, Drew Thomas, Blaze Thomas, Adam Long, David Long, Tara Long, Kelly Long and Clay Long. The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the Children?s Home of Lubbock.
