Thaxton, Joe Bailey,Sr. (J.B.)

Funeral services for Joe B. ?J.B.? Thaxton Sr. 92, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Gregory Brady of Austin officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Thaxton died at 8:05 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2000, in Sherwood Health Care Facility in Bryan.

He was born July 3, 1908 in Stephenville and married Flora Mae Smith on July 17, 1930 in Plainview. She died June 10, 1996. He was a farmer and longtime Plainview resident before moving to College Station in 1988. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Petty Thaxton of College Station, and three grandchildren, Lezlie Thompson of Fairbanks, Alaska, Melissa Brady of Jefferson City, Mo. And Justin Thaxton of College Station, and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lemons Funeral Home.
