Taylor, Tommy G.

Graveside services for Tommy G. Taylor, 64, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Plainview Cemetery with his nephews, Jim Bob Carver of Canyon and David Carver of Abernathy officiating.

Memorial services were held Sunday at the Gulf Coast Club in Houston.

Mr. Taylor died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Houston.

He was born Feb. 9, 1939, in Plainview to Roy and Ollie Mae Taylor.

He grew up in Plainview where he attended schools, graduating from Plainview High School in 1957.

He served in the U.S. Army Military Police from 1961-63 in Germany.

After serving in the military, he attended Texas Tech University, graduating with a bachelor?s degree in mechanical engineering. He worked in the steel industry, retiring in 2003.

He married Bobbie Tudor in 1964 in Lubbock.

Survivors include a son, Matt Taylor of Dallas; a sister, Charlotte Carver of Abernathy; two cousins, Barbara Kay Brewer of Amarillo and Cynthia Dickey of Fort Worth; two nephews, Jim Bob Carver of Canyon and David Carver of Abernathy; and two great nephews, Owen Carver of Canyon and Caden Carver of Abernathy.

Memorials may be made in memory of Ollie Mae Taylor to the Hale County Senior Citizens Center, 1107 Smyth. Plainview, Texas 79072.
