Obituary
Elizabeth "Liz" Swanson, 83, of Plainview passed away at 10:03 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, in First Assembly of God with the Rev. Manual Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Swanson was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Amarillo to Ray and Irene Dyer. She graduated from Plainview High School. She married Jack Swanson on Dec. 31, 1958, in Plainview. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone and transitioned with the company, retiring from AT&T after 35 years of service. Her hobbies included antiquing, shopping and painting. She loved and drew comfort from family, church and special friends. She was a member of the First Assembly of God, Pink Ladies Auxiliary and D.A.R. Survivors include her four children, Dan Swanson of Cameron, La., Donna Ferguson of San Angelo, April Wade and husband Jim of Amarillo and Sandra Bloom and husband John of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren, Bob Ferguson and wife Deidre, Don Ferguson and wife Jennifer, Shelly Thrasher and husband Shannon, Amy Wade, and Jenna Decker and husband Justin; and five great-grandchildren, Brendon and Kody Thrasher, Alex and Ashton Ferguson, and Derc Decker. Memorials may be made to B.S.A., Hospice and Meals on Wheels, or a favorite charity. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the First Assembly of God.
