Stout, O.A.,Jr.

O.A. Stout, Jr., 81, of Hale Center, died Friday, July 21, 2017, in Hale Center. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 24, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Hale Center with Rev. Jimmy Cameron officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Hale Center. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church.

O.A. was born February 9, 1936, in Hale County, to Oatis and Lillian (LeCroy) Stout. On February 1, 1958, he married Betty Floyd in Plainview. A long time farmer and rancher, O.A. was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Taking care of his family was his number one goal. He served several years as a Hale Center I.S.D. school board trustee and was on the board of directors for the First National Bank of Hale Center. O.A. also served as a 4-H leader for many years and he enjoyed fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Stout of Hale Center, his son, Kevin O. Stout and his wife, Rebecca of Hale Center, and two daughters, Dana Crossland of Floydada and Donna Ross and her husband, Stephen of Lexington, TX. He was blessed with five grandchildren: Colton Stout, Chance Crossland and his wife, Whitney, Katie Beth Bruxvoort and her husband, Andy, MaryBeth Ross and Emily Ross and four great-grandchildren: Tatum, Bennett, Holden, and Allie Joy.

The family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church P.O. Box 1258 Hale Center, TX 79041, Area Community Hospice 4300 Olton Rd. Plainview, TX 79072, or a favorite charity.
