Obituary

Graveside services for Robert E. Stubbs, 70, of Hale Center will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hale Center Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Cameron officiating. Arrangements are by Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop. Mr. Stubbs died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at his residence. He was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Gray County to Gertrude and Cecil Stubbs. He graduated from Pampa High School and Amarillo College. He married Helena Ann McCaskill on Sept. 20, 1964, in Pampa. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-67. He worked as a registered nurse and house supervisor at Pampa Regional Medical Center and as a house supervisor at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He also was a farmer. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Cynthia Stubbs and Deborah Henson, both of Lefors, and Melissa Stubbs of Houston; one brother, Earl Eugene Stubbs of Pampa; and six grandchildren. His parents and a sister, Elizabeth Houdashe, are deceased.
