Obituary

Funeral services for Danny Ray Stoker, 47, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Weiss officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Stoker died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Oct. 5, 1960, in Lockney. He grew up in East Texas before moving to Plainview with his family in 1975. Mr. Stoker worked for Wal-Mart Distribution for 18 years before retiring early due to health reasons. He was co-owner of Just Stripes. He and Sue Cookston were married Dec. 7, 1990, in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Eric Ward of Salinas, Calif.; his father, Jack Stoker of Troup; two brothers, Andy Stoker of Chandler and Rodney Stoker of Plainview; two sisters, Shirley Rawlinson of Lufkin and Debbie Crosby of Whitehouse; one grandson, David Kyle Ward of Salina, Calif.; his in-laws, Bill and Rozalyn Cookston and Shirley Cookston of Plainview; and numerous nieces and nephews Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
