Obituary

Funeral services for Dorris Watson Stockton, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2005, in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddy Curry, minister of education, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005, in Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Stockton died Monday, July 4, 2005, at her home in Hot Springs, Ark. She was born Aug. 23, 1913, in Plainview to Charles and Matilda Watson. She married William R. Stockton on April 7, 1929, in Floydada. Mrs. Stockton was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, her Sunday School class and Baptist Women's group. She also was a member of the Plainview Quilting Club. Survivors include three sons, Charles and his wife Cheryl Stockton of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; Marvin and his wife Jean Stockton of Carrollton and David Stockton of Boston, Mass.; three grandsons, Larry Stockton, Wayne Stockton and Chad Stockton; one granddaughter, Cheri Wheeler; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Stockton, William Stockton and Rylynn Wheeler. Mrs. Stockton was preceded in death by her husband, William Rush Stockton, and four sisters, Velma Gault, Opal Robinson, Moella Brannock and Willie Mae Whitsitt.
