Obituary
Funeral services for Willie Faye Stidom, 67, of Plainview will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bartley Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gloria Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Stidom died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, in Lubbock. She was born June 15, 1944, in DeKalb to Elizabeth Hunter and Leon Barnes. She attended Booker T. Washington High School and received her GED. She graduated from Wayland Baptist University with an associate's degree in business in 1992. She worked for both Missouri Beef (now known as Excel) and Tommy Lewis Industries for 13 years. She was a member of Happy Union Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing. She married Frank Walton in April 1965 and Mack Stidom in May 1983. Survivors include four daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela and Kenneth Brown of Amarillo, Gail Myers of Lubbock, Tina Walton of Houston and Andrea Stidom of Plainview; six brothers, Charles Phillips of Plainview, Donny Phillips and Leon Barnes Jr., both of Lubbock, D.R. Hearn of Las Vegas, Nev., R.V. Barnes of Tampa, Fla., and Donald Wayne Barnes of Amarillo; and three sisters, Lena Cofer of Fort Worth, Nora Jackson of Faris, Calif., and Rosemary Hill of Amarillo.
