Obituary

Gwendolyn Stephenson, 59, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview with the Rev. Rusty Gray, pastor of Tulia Christian Fellowship of Tulia, officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Viewing will be at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia until Saturday morning. A visitation will be held on 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at the funeral home in Tulia.
Gwendolyn Diane Stephenson was born Oct. 10, 1954, in Hereford to James Clyde and Betty Jo Funderburk. She was a cosmetologist for several years. She married Max Barham on Dec. 2, 1971. She then married David Wesley on June 2, 1977. She married James David Stephenson on Feb. 22, 2002, in Clovis, N.M. He died in 2012. She also worked for the American Legion Auxiliary in Plainview where she was a member. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Clyde Stephenson and one sister Darla Denise Evans.
She is survived by one daughter, Serena Newbold and husband Charles of Ruidoso, N.M.; three sons, Jaymes Barham of Bonham, Aaron Wesley and wife Betty of Tulia and David Justin Wesley of Plainview; one stepdaughter, Bridget Marshall of San Antonio, one stepson, David Randall Stephenson and wife Lori of Davenport, Iowa; one brother, James Dwane Funderburk of Amarillo, one sister, Donna Hamner of Salpulpa, Okla., 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
