Obituary

Graveside services for Pauline Stephens, 95, former Hale Center resident, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at Hale Center Cemetery with Jason Freed of Hale Center Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home in Hale Center. Mrs. Stephens died at Bell County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Temple on Sept. 27, 2006. She was born May 24, 1911, in Oklahoma. She married Melvin Stephens Jan. 24, 1934, in Hollis, Okla. He died July 15, 2002. She was a Hale Center resident until 1995 when she moved to Temple. She was a member of Hale Center Church of Christ and Canyon Creek Church of Christ in Temple. She is survived by a daughter, Freddie Mae and her husband Ronald Neal Heuss of Temple; a granddaughter, Jennifer Heuss of Seoul, Korea; an adopted granddaughter, Cynthia Sue Schwenker of Alpharetta, Ga.; two adopted great-grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Schwenker; a brother, Bob and his wife Jean McCarver of Hale Center; and a sister, Bennie and her husband Jimmy Downing of Richardson. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Hale Center Senior Citizens Assoc., Box 205, Hale Center, TX 79041.
